Game Report: Blues 5, Stars 1

Jake Allen picked up where Jordan Binnington left off on Friday night.

After Binnington turned in consecutive shutouts in goal for the Blues, Allen came within four minutes of posting the team’s third consecutive shutout before settling for the win over the Stars in Dallas.

Allen stopped 18 of 19 shots to help the Blues post their first regulation win on the road since Dec. 23, snapping a streak of 11 consecutive road games without a win in regulation.

The Blues have allowed a total of just 50 shots on goal in their last three games and on Friday night were without defenseman Alex Pietrangelo.

After taking a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Alexander Steen and David Perron, the Blues increased the lead to 4-0 in the second period as Jordan Kyrou and Jaden Schwartz scored. It was the 20th goal of the season for Schwartz.

The Blues chased Dallas goalie Ben Bishop after he allowed the four goals on 19 shots.

Colton Parayko scored the final Blues goal in the third period before Dallas ruined the shutout bid on a goal with 3:33 left in the game.

The Blues will play at Minnesota on Sunday night.
