Game Report: Golden Knights 6, Blues 4

The Blues did not lose a game in regulation during the regular season when they had a lead after the second period.

On Thursday night in Edmonton, it happened for the second time in two games in the round-robin tournament that will determine the top four seeds for the first round of the playoffs.

Because of their 2-1 loss to Colorado and the loss to the Golden Knights, the Blues will be no higher than the third seed, despite leading the conference in points when the regular season was stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Blues led 4-3 going into the third period, getting goals 21 seconds apart from Colton Parayko, his second of the game, and Troy Brouwer that wiped out a 3-2 lead for Las Vegas.

In the third period, the Blues were held without a shot on goal until just four minutes remained in the game, and by that time the Golden Knights had scored three goals against Jordan Binnington to take the two-goal lead.

The Blues had built a 2-0 lead early in the second period before the Knights scored three consecutive goals.

The Knights out-shot the Blues 38-17.

The Blues third and final game in the round-robin qualifying round will be on Sunday against the Dallas Stars.
