The Missouri Tigers ended their regular season with a thud on Saturday.
The Tigers traveled to Mississippi State, fell behind 27-10 at the half and by a 44-18 margin early in the fourth quarter en route to a 51-32 loss.
It was the second blowout loss to end the season for the Tigers, who went 5-5 in the all-SEC season in Eli Drinkwitz’s first season as the Missouri coach.
The loss likely will not affect Missouri’s bid to a bowl game, which will be finalized on Sunday.
The only bright spot for the Tigers was another strong game from Larry Rountree III, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
Missouri’s defense, which gave up more than 48 points for the third consecutive game, could not stop a team which had won only two of its previous nine games this season.
The offense turned the ball over four times, included a muffed punt with Mississippi State turned into a touchdown. Quarterback Connor Bazelak was intercepted three times.
