June 11 event will raise money for Big League Impact, Wainwright’s nonprofit
Ever dream of golfing with a St. Louis Cardinals player– or several? How about Adam Wainwright, Tommy Edman, Paul Goldschmidt, Steven Matz, and Drew VerHagen?
Wainwright, the founder of Big League Impact, invites fans to join him in “Swinging for Impact” at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 11 at St. Louis’ Topgolf (16851 N. Outer 40 Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63005). CommunityAmerica Credit Union is proud to be a sponsor and invites other companies to step up and support Wainwright
Participants will enjoy an evening of camaraderie and competition alongside their favorite Cardinals players. All proceeds from the event will benefit Big League Impact, the nonprofit Wainwright started in 2013 to help bring MLB players and fans together to raise money for a variety of important causes.
“I’m so excited to be hosting another Swinging for Impact event here in St. Louis,” Wainwright says. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with each other, have fun, and most importantly, give back to those in need. I’m beyond excited to see so many of my fellow players involved and ready to make a difference in the world, and I can’t wait to share that experience with the best fans in baseball.”
Tickets are $250 per person, or $400 per pair of golfers, and include golf with a Cardinals player, food and three drinks tickets for beer and wine. There will also be a cash bar available for additional drinks. Winners will take home a three-month Topgolf Platinum Elite membership for six individuals.
During the event there will be a silent auction with great sports items, like the Wainwright jersey, shown right.
Registration is open through noon C.T. on Monday, June 5; anyone who signs up by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, May 4 will be entered to win a pair of autographed Adam Wainwright cleats and a Steven Walden print signed by Wainwright.
The Cardinals veteran hurler will be greeting fans and joining in the fun. The photo, right shows Wainwright signing autographs at last year’s event.
He has made two rehab starts with the Springfield Cardinals, and is eager to be back in St. Louis and mix with the fans.
More Cardinals players are expected to be announced soon.
