LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

MONDAY, MAY 29, 2023

The Cardinals' offensive woes continued today as they had just two hits in a 7-0 loss to the Royals at Busch Stadium. Their first 21 batters were retired in order before Nolan Arenado singled leading off the eighth inning. The Cardinals have manufactured only one run in their last three games that didn't score on a solo home run.

Miles Mikolas will get the start on Tuesday night in the final game of the quick two-game series. It will be the 19th game in 19 days for the Cardinals, who are currently 11-7 over that stretch.
