Every year we love greeting our old friends and meeting new Cardinals fans at our annual Baseball Bash. Many of you have contacted us and we are using our optimistic outlook in hopes that we will be holding a gathering. In the past we have had players involved and we’ve done a fundraiser for Rainbows for Kids. This year we may or may not be able to it the way we’ve done it for the past ten years– but we hope to see you on March 9th in some sort of capacity and celebrate the upcoming 2022 season.

The Latest for Those Staying at the Homewood Suites Palm Beach Gardens for Spring Training
It sounds like they are working hard to keep us safe and using good COVID-19 protocol. We asked Elise Robnson, the Sales Director and our contact for the special promocode some specific questions because various hotels are handling things differently. Here is what she told us about the Homewood Suites Palm Beach Gardens and of course, keep in mind– anything is subject to change:
1. For breakfast and dinner, they are still serving, but on a reduced capacity. They are serving all breakfast from behind the front desk and it is all grab and go– mostly a continental style breakfast, with the addition of a hot item 4 days a week, and once it is gone, it’s gone for the day.T
As for dinner, that will also be served grab and go style from the dinner area and is Monday-Wednesday 5-6:30 with a set weekly menu. At this time they are serving an entrée with beer and wine. If you are comfortable staying in the public spaces, you are more than welcome to do so.
2. They still have the coffee pots in the room– just the standard two cup pots (rather than Keurig at this time).
3. The workout room is open, with no time reservations needed. It is essentially first come, first serve and they are leaving the distancing up to individuals. There is also the opportunity to use Palm Beach Sports Club at the end of the plaza for more space.
4. The pool is open as well. Not policing the quantities of guests as at this time everyone is aware of the situation and they are all adults and should be capable of distancing themselves as such.
5. Update to housekeeping services. They are only offering services at most every other day, by floor, with all services upon request and no services provided on Sunday. There will be literature in the room upon arrival and any of of the staff can explain further once you arrive.
SPRING TRAINING ARCHIVES
A look at some of our fun parties… For many years we have been having special Spring Training Bash Parties which benefitted charity– Rainbows for Kids and Leukemia Society of Palm Beach
Photo from the 2020 Baseball Bash:
This may have been the last “party” or large crowd gathering you attended if you were there. It was held on March 12, 2020 and just as it started we received word that MLB had cancelled the remainder part of Spring Training– due to the start of the COVID-19 closings.
The day the 2020 Baseball Bash was the day of the last Spring Training game. We had a player scheduled and due to “circumstances beyond their control” he could not attend. There was a great, enthusiastic crowd and the fans had a fun time despite what was happening.

For the past several years The Homewood Suites has teamed up with STLSportspage.com to put on a charity event which benefits Rainbows for Kids in St. Louis and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Palm Beach. The event is free of charge and open to all fans of STLSportsPage.com and any guests staying at the Homewood Suites. Carson Kelly was the guest last year, shown in photo with Mike Trim of WPTV News in West Palm Beach and Rob Rains.
The Spring Training Charity Bash features free food and drink as well as a silent auction, but the highlight of the event has always been a player from the St. Louis Cardinals who attends and entertains on a sports panel with Trim and Rains.
Trim, a Cardinals fan, originally from Hermann, MO is a television anchor and always donates his time to do the panel with Rob Rains of STLSportsPage.com. The photo, above, right is the 2017 event featuring Aledmys Diaz.
After the panel discussion there was a barbecue and the Cardinals fans got to eat hamburgers and hot dogs.
The best part of the party is raising money for two great charities. Proceeds from the Baseball Bash are divided between the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Palm Beach and Rainbows for Kids in St. Louis. Tyler Hammond, shown in photo below was a member of Rainbows for Kids when he was a child. He had multiple organ transplants, but was able to participate on the Rainbows for Kids Baseball Team and all the activities designed for families with children in treatment. He has now graduated from college and is a volunteer with the organization. He is shown in the picture with Daniel Ponce de Leon.
Plan a trip to Spring Training and join us at the party!
