From Press Release
The Battlehawks field will soon be transformed into a dirt track for a big auto race, and a St. Charles native is one of the racers.
It marks the eighth running of the event, which debuted in 2016 and was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19. Since 2019, Gateway Dirt Nationals has been livestreamed on FloRacing.
This unique race, the only indoor Super Late Model race of the season, requires the transformation of the traditional football stadium (now the home of the United Football League’s St. Louis Battlehawks) into a temporary fifth-mile dirt oval – making it the largest indoor oval race track in the U.S.
By the end of the weekend, winners will be determined in two-divisions – Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified.
Gundaker’s sponsors include Gundaker Commercial Real Estate Group and 1st Phorm, both are St. Louis area based companies. He is a big sports fan and loves going to the Cardinals games and Blues games.
In the featured portion of the action, a field of 150 Super Late Model entries will be split into two groups, with half competing in Thursday’s preliminary race, and half competing Friday. The initial goal, of course, is to earn a spot in Saturday’s finale.
Once again, Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals will be broadcast on FloRacing and available to all FloRacing subscribers.
Non-subscribers interested in watching the race can become FloRacing subscribers by clicking here.
Fans can watch on their SmartTVs, mobile phones or tablets, as well as computers on FloRacing.com. The FloSports app is available on Roku, FireTV, Samsung, LG, Google Play Store and the Apple Store.
