Original Story:
FanDuel Sports Network has added the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Miami Marlins Spring Breakout game to its Spring Training broadcast schedule with father and son, Chip and Stefan Caray, to call the game together for the first time.
Cardinals and Marlins minor league prospects will play against each other in the showcase game in Jupiter, Florida on Friday, March 14 at 11:10 a.m. CT.
“The Spring Breakout is a blast,” said Chip Caray. “The games are so fun and are an exciting preview of baseball’s bright future and a reminder of when we all were starting our baseball dreams. To be asked to work with my really talented son, Stefan, and see his career starting at the same time is a wonderful honor and a dream come true for our entire family.”
Identical twins, Stefan Caray and his brother Chris started their broadcasting career as the play-by-play broadcasters with the Amarillo Sod Poodles, a Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, from 2022-24. They were the only pair of identical twins ever to be in the same booth together as play-by-play broadcasters in any professional sport in the United States.
Broadcasting has been a way of life for the Caray family and they are all happy for each other and of course, the father is proud of both sons.
“They are great people, they are really terrific at what they do and their future is very bright,” Chip told STL Sports Page for the story. “They’re passionate, they care, and they want to do good work.”
Chip Caray is beginning his third season as the Cardinals play-by-play announcer on FanDuel Sports Network.
