LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

FRIDAY, SEPT. 4, 2026

The Dodgers scored two runs off Riley O'Brien in the ninth inning Thursday night to wipe out a 2-1 lead for the Cardinals and get a 3-2 walk-off win in Los Angeles. It's the fourth walk-off loss for the Cardinals in their last 16 games and kept them from completing a sweep of the three-game series.

Righthander Hunter Dobbins will miss most if not all of next season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on Wednesday. He had to come out of is last start because of pain in his elbow. He had been expected to be in the competition for a spot in next year's starting rotation.

The road trip will continue tonight with the first of three games against the Rockies in Colorado. Andre Pallante is expected to be activated from the injured list to get the start.
