LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SATURDAY, AUG. 15, 2026 

A three-run homer by Seiya Suzuki off George Soriano in the sixth inning gave the Cubs a 3-0 win over the Cardinals Friday in Chicago. Soriano had just relieved Matthew Liberatore, who had only allowed two hits. The Cardinals were held to just three singles.

Manager Oli Marmol announced after the game that outfielder Joshua Baez will join the team today for his major-league debut and will be in the lineup. Baez had hit 34 home runs for Memphis.

Michael McGreevy will get the start in today's game.
