Two St. Louisans will be in the Macy’s Parade

Does your family enjoy the tradition of watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving? This year there will be a couple of high school girls to be on the lookout for.

St. Louis is often represented by high school bands from the area but the 2025 parade does not feature any local bands, however there are two girls from Lindbergh High School with prominent roles in the parade.

Congratulations to junior Sarah Bailey and senior Rebecca Thomas of Lindbergh on being selected as members of the 2025 Macy’s Great American Marching Band Color Guard—one of the most prestigious marching ensembles in the nation.

This honor places Bailey and Thomas among the top high school performers in the United States, representing both their high school as well as the St. Louis community, and the state of Missouri on one of the biggest stages in the world.

Sarah Bailey Returns for Her Second Year

Sarah Bailey began her journey early Saturday, traveling to New York City to begin rehearsals for her second consecutive year with the iconic ensemble. Returning performers are exceptionally rare, making her achievement even more remarkable.

On Thanksgiving morning, the girls will take center stage as millions of viewers across the country tune in to watch one of America’s longest-standing holiday traditions. Being selected for this ensemble is an honor that recognizes not only talent, but dedication, leadership, and a passion for the performing arts. Sarah and Rebecca exemplify what it means to be a Flyer by representing our school with excellence and pride.

The 99th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is set to step off on November 27, 2025, in New York City and will be broadcast to viewers live on NBC and Peacock that same day from 8:30 a.m. eastern, but the parade is shown all over the country at 8:30 local time. So tune in at 8:30 in St Louis.. It will be hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker and will include giant and midsized helium balloons, 29 floats, 33 clown groups, 11 marching bands, nine performance groups, a host of musical stars, and will end as always with a visit from Santa Claus.
