St. Patrick’s Day Events in STL- 2024

Cardinals fans are trading their red for green this week as Irish Eyes are Smiling for St. Patrick’s Day in St. Louis.

The party has already started in St. Louis.

The photo, left shows Lisa Reed-Knowles and James Knowles enjoying the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Old Town Florissant on Sunday. Florissant has  their St. Patrick’s Day Parade a week early and their celebrations are going on all day on Sunday (March 10) with the parade, festival and run.

The festival is going on from 1-6 and is being held at Duchesne Home Association Grounds (formerly Knights of Columbus), 50 Rue St Francois St, Florissant, MO 63031

There will be a lot of green beer flowing on March 17, but WineandFood.com claims green beer was not invented in, Ireland, but rather in the Bronx.

Dr. Thomas Curtin, a coroner’s physician and eye surgeon, in the Bronx first colored beer for an annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Schnerer Club of Morrisania. That was in the early 1900’s.

The Greater St. Louis Area has always been known for their St. Patrick’s Day celebrations from parades, to festivals, to the bar scene with pub crawls.
