LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 1, 2026

Thomas Saggese hit two of the Cardinals' five home runs and the Cardinals beat the Dodgers 13-8 on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, the most runs they have ever scored in a game at Dodger Stadium, which opened in 1962. Jordan Walker hit his 28th homer, a two-run shot which gave him 99 RBIs for the season. The other homers came from Ramon Urias and Joshua Baez.

Leo Bernal, called up from Memphis, made his major-league debut and had a two-run single in the third inning in his second at-bat.

The Cardinals plan to go with a bullpen game tonight in the second game of the series.
