Infielder Matt Carpenter was  placed on the 10-Day IL retroactive to Aug. 9 with a swollen back strain.  OF Jordan Walker recalled from Memphis.

Jordan Walker was loose and joking with his teammates during practice this weekend when we were in Memphis, but it was all business during the game– he hit two home runs while we were there.
The Memphis Redbirds had him available for a media scrum (shown in photo at top of article). He said he was happy with his progress and could see improvement in his approach.

“I’ve had a lot of fun this year, And I don’t know, from the outside looking in, maybe people don’t see it that way. I’ve had a lot of fun working on things that I need to work on, and trying to continue to get better.”– Jordan Walker this weekend in Memphis.
