Opening Day in St. Louis is a holiday. Nothing gets done; people skip work and school. Thursday March 27, 2025 was no different.

Downtown St. Louis was a sea of Red. This photo was inside Cardinals Nation.

It started out with an outdoor pep rally at Cardinal Nation:

Anheuser-Busch was passing out free beer from the Anheiser-Busch Clydesdale wagon. Fans were able to gather around the area where the large trucks that carry the horses. Since it was raining they did not pull the wagon outside. They stayed in the trucks until they walked across the street to the stadium.

The Clydesdales are always a hit at Opening Day. This is them going into the stadium from their trucks.

Once they got in the stadium, it was raining so the pregame activities were pushed back, but the decision was made to have the Clydesdales circle the ballpark inside Busch so the fans could see them. Since it was a little early some fans were inside because it was raining but when they announced they were ready fans scrambled to get to an area where they could see them. Many were under cover by the concession stands and they watched it on the stadium TVs.

After the Clydesdales left, the rain got heavier and the tarp stayed on the field.

About an hour and a half after the rain started, the Cardinals held the rest of the pregame festivities and fans loved seeing the parade of Hall of Famers, Red Jackets and the 2025 Cardinals team.

Tony La Russa got a lot of cheers from the fans.

The players were introduced.

The fans were happy to see Cardinals baseball back in town. The game ended up being a sell-out. It took a while but the stadium was filled.
After all the speculation during the off-season about will Nolan Arenado be there or not, he came out and hit a home run.
