One of country rock’s more inventive exponents, The Daredevils was formed in 1971 by the songwriting team of John Dillon, Randle Chowning, Larry Lee, and Steve Cash, with Michael “Supe” Granda and Buddy Brayfield completing the line-up. The group was originally based in Springfield, Missouri. Their acclaimed 1973 debut album, recorded in London under the direction of producer Glyn Johns, contained the U.S. Top 30 single “If You Wanna Get to Heaven,” while a second success, “Jackie Blue,” came from the band’s follow-up collection, “It’ll Shine When It Shines.”

STLSportsPage has featured Michael Granda, more commonly known as “Supe” as he is always on the move with a new project and now he has   written a book Cardinals fans  will enjoy:  “Fowl Ball; Observations of a St. Louis Cardinals Fan.”

This recent book contains essays about the St. Louis Cardinals– and with all he has done, he is like the rest of St. Louis– he is a Cardinals fan.

Rob Rains wrote the foreword for Granda’s book and Dan Martin did the illustrations on the front and back cover. For info on the book: CLICK HERE.

Despite all his other involvements, Granda continues traveling with the Daredevils and he is excited to be playing in front of his hometown crowd.

Producing 16 albums and selling over 3 million records are a testament to the enduring commitment to their craft. In essence, their legacy endures not only through their timeless melodies but also through their embodiment of the American spirit and their unwavering dedication to crafting music that speaks to the soul. They remain a cherished chapter in the story of American rock, leaving an enduring legacy that transcends time and genre. This year marks their retirement from touring. Jimmy Hall first gained popularity as the lead vocalist, saxophonist, and harmonica player for the band Wet Willie. His unique brand of R&B-infused rock ‘n’ roll and onstage swagger propelled the group’s signature song “Keep on Smilin’” to the Top 10 on the Billboard singles chart in 1974. His songs have been recorded by Gregg Allman, Jason Isbell, The Marshall Tucker Band, Blackberry Smoke, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Johnny Russell, and many others. Additionally, Hall has been a vocalist and bandleader for Hank Williams, Jr. since 1992. In 2021, he received a Grammy Award as a guest artist on the Fisk Jubilee Singer`s Celebrating Fisk! in the Best Roots Gospel category with his recording of the Hank Williams’ classic “I Saw the Light.” In 2022, Hall released his new album, “Ready Now,” produced by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith.

Located at 17105 North Outer 40 Road, just off Interstate 64/40 at the Boone’s Crossing exit, The Factory at The District is the newest addition to the vibrant entertainment scene in      St. Louis, and offers complimentary, well-lit parking for all events.
