If you can’t find something to do in St. Louis these days, you are just not looking. There are many unique venues opening up or putting on interesting exhibits. We posted Fourth of July Celebrations elsewhere on the site, but these are a few unique offerings.
Mermaids on the Mississippi
For the first time ever, Mermaids will dive in the habiats at the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station. In addition to the magical dives, families can enjoy a meet and greet with the mermaids.
This special event takes place Wednesday, July 2 through Sunday, July 6 and is included with general admission to the aquarium.
Dives in Shark Canyon and the Grand Lobby Clock and meet and greet sessions will take place at various times throughout the day. The Aquarium is open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily.

Kids can experience a Magic Makeover in Mermaid style or Sea King style before meeting the Mermaids. The makeovers include ocean-inspired face paint, hair decorations and more. (The makeover is an additional cost.)

Paddle Up Pickelball
Paddle Up Pickleball Club announced the grand opening of its second location, a 23,000 sq. ft. indoor facility at The District in Chesterfield, slated for July 21, 2025.
The new club will feature premium indoor courts, equipment rentals, coaching, leagues, tournaments, and state-of-the-art amenities. Owners Matt Landolt and Jon Richert are bringing their passion and innovation to this growing pickleball community. League signups are available now.
“This is our second location,” said co-owner Matt Landolt. “We’re psyched to bring what we’ve learned from Lake St. Louis to Chesterfield. We were the first indoor pickleball-only club in St. Charles County, and we can’t wait to expand that energy here.”
The Chesterfield facility will debut two first-of-their-kind pickleball simulators—technology that helps players of all levels sharpen their skills through immersive, data-driven training experiences. In addition, Paddle Up is launching a league where members can represent their favorite District tenants in friendly, competitive play.
