Cardinals honor Hall of Famers and 1985 Cardinals team in big weekend at Busch

It was a big weekend for the Cardinals as they honored some special former Cardinals and personnel.

The Cardinals also  celebrated the 40th Anniversary of 1985 NL Champs with 20+ alumni on hand Saturday Sept. 5

Over 20 former players and coaches from the 1985 team, including National Baseball Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, Cardinals Hall of Famers Willie McGeeVince ColemanJohn Tudor & Tom Herr; Terry PendletonDanny CoxRicky HortonAndy Van SlykeTodd Worrell, and more took part in a pregame ceremony.

In addition to the 1985 players, the organization celebrated Cardinals Hall of Fame Weekend with gate giveaways on all three dates, the Maryville University Walk of Fame plaque presentation on Friday, Terry Pendleton was the  Saturday Signing player at the Cardinals Museum on Saturday , the Cardinals Hall of Fame Red Jacket Parade immediately followed Saturday’s Induction Ceremony, and a special pregame on-field ceremony  was held on Saturday evening.

Édgar Rentería, Al Hrabosky & Walt Jocketty were enshrined in the Cardinals Hall of Fame, Saturday, Sept. 6. Hrabosky and Renteria was there but as Jocketty had passed away earlier this year, his son Joey accepted the award.

Over a dozen Cardinals Hall of Famers took part in the Induction Ceremony including Ozzie SmithTony La Russa, Ted SimmonsScott Rolen, Joe Torre, Chris Carpenter, Ray Lankford, John Tudor, Tom HerrJosé Oquendo, and Matt Morris. The photo below was posted by the Cardinals.

The Cardinals Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held outdoors on the Busch II Infield Stage in Together Credit Union Plaza at Ballpark Village
