Fun October and Halloween Haunts in St. Louis in 2025

October has arrived, bringing a cauldronful of fun events to thrill Halloween enthusiasts. This year brings back favorite haunts along with a few new additions events hosts say will bring laughs and screams – all in the name of fun. This year’s spooktacular top picks include the scary to the not-so-scary.  All promising tricks and tricks for everyone to enjoy.

From seasonal snacks to fun photo ops, it’s one-of-a-kind fun blending tradition, excitement, with plenty of Halloween tricks and treats.

EGOT-winning, critically acclaimed, multiplatinum artist and producer JOHN LEGEND is returning to St. Louis on Monday, November 17, performing live in concert at The Factory. Backed by his full band, Legend’s “Get Lifted 20th Anniversary World Tour” showcases a set list celebrating the entirety of his Grammy winning album. Each night, Legend delivers a mix of deep cuts, fan favorites, and fresh renditions of the album’s beloved tracks. Surprise guests will join Legend across the tour. In addition to honoring Get Lifted, the live show features Legend’s other career-spanning hits. This is a celebration you don’t want to miss!

John Legend has garnered 13 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award and three Emmy Awards, among others. Legend is one of only nineteen people in the prestigious EGOT club and has released ten celebrated albums over the course of his career. His tenth and most recent studio album “My Favorite Dream, via Republic Records: Kids & Family” is an album of sing-alongs and lullabies for children and families, the project was produced by singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens.

Spirits of Thomas Sappington House are returning on October 25 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Visitors are invited to step inside the oldest  brink house in St Louis County to catch the “spirits” retelling their stories along with readings from the Edgar Allen Poe.  The grounds will be open for guests to explore and meet a colonial surgeon, Dr. John Murphy, who will share 18th century medical methods that aren’t for the faint of heart. Afterwards, walk through the adjacent Father Dickson African American cemetery, established in 1903, where treats and chilled cider will be served around the bonfire. Entrance fee is $10 for adults and free for children under 12.

Spirits of Soulard Ghost Tour The inaugural Soulard neighborhood ghost tour featuring Soulard’s most haunted locations, kicks off the season on September 27. Soulard’s historic chilling past will be revealed for the first time, is open to adults ages 18 and older, and begins at Pieces Board Game Bar & Restaurant near the Anheuser-Busch campus. The two-hour guided walking tour offers a blend of real history and bone-chilling tales of mysterious encounters with spirits and unexplained phenomena. Adults looking to explore the dark side of Soulard will not want to miss it. All proceeds from ticket sales support Soulard Restoration Group.

Eckert’s Farm in Belleville, IL offers another new attraction to enhance its slate of October events – Jack’s Lighted Trail. A half-a-mile trail of illuminate pumpkins, giant carved pumpkins and whimsical scenes famed by towering corn stalks. Seasonal bites and sweet treats are available before and after the trail walk at Eckert’s Cider Shed. Also housed in the Cider Shed, guests ages 21+ can slip into the adults-only “Spook-Easy” for themed cocktails. Jack’s Lighted Trail along with Erkert’s other Halloween themed events are open through November 1.

The Darkness and Creepyworld are counted among the scariest haunted screamparks in America have opened its doors for visitors who want a good scare. Each site has new attractions for the 2025 scare season. Darkness, located in Soulard on South 8th Street boosts  over 200 animated monsters and sets along with a new Secret Horror Bar.

 

Creepyworld, located off 141 in Fenton, Missouri,  America’s biggest and longest screampark, folds 13 different haunted attractions into its grounds. Featured this year, a spine-chilling Monster Mansion and a haunted  hayride. Darkness and Creepyworld are open until November 1

Shadows at the Sheldon October 31, 6 pm.  Join GRIP Paranormal for a paranormal investigation of the 113-year-old Sheldon Concert Hall on Halloween. Follow the team for spirit communication sessions in the Sheldon’s darkened recesses or you can investigate those areas on your own. To help document your experiences, GRIP will offer the use of paranormal investigation equipment (infrared cameras, K2 meters, dowsing rods, temperature monitors) and a short tutorial on how to use them. You can also use your own equipment, cell phones and cameras.  Minimum  age restrictions apply. Bar service will be available to help steady nerves. In addition to a tarot card reader will be available for readings before and after the event for a separate fee.

Campbell House Museum’s Spirits in the Garden  October 24 -5:30-8:30 pm. Sip and toast the spirits of the night with Robert’s Campbell’s preferred whisky along with e cocktail, wine and beer. while exploring the traditions of Snap Apple Night. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase a reading from spirit reader/clairvoyant Linda Humphries, and the chance to enter your name in a raffle to win a sip out of President Ulysses Grant’s Mint Julep Cup. Twilight Tour continues inside Campbell House, draped in black for Robert’s funeral, where the St. Louis Mourning Society will present Victorian mourning and burial customs, and 19th century spiritual beliefs. Ticket reservations required.

City Museum Fright at the Museum- Oct. 1-26.     Fireside shows at the Theatre of the Oddities thrill guests on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 12:30, 2 and 4 p.m.; Fridays at 4:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 2:30, 3:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays at 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. Hosted by the inscrutable Doc Terminus, the Odditorium lands somewhere between odd and amazing with acrobats, fire breakthers and some spooky surprises.

Want to connect to the spirit world? Live seances will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 5, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 2:30, 4 and 5 p.m.

For the little ones or more timid folks of all ages, Not-So-Spooky Storytelling sessions with the City Museum witch will spin slightly terrifying tales on Saturdays and Sundays in the 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. hours.

Circus Harmony, the resident troupe at City Museum, transforms into the Happy Haunted Harmony Circus during the Fright at the Museum celebration. Times are Wednesdays at 1 p.m., Thursdays at noon, Fridays at noon and

2 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 1 and 3 p.m.
