How to watch Cardinals Spring Training in 2026 amid the construction at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium

The Cardinals first full work-out is Monday Feb. 16 for 2026 and while everything is the same once you get to the back fields, nothing is the same to get there.

This year the normal entrance to the Cardinals back fields is closed due to construction, but the Cardinals have found a way for fans to watch practice.   You would need to drive around the stadium to the Marlin’s side from Main Street, turn right on Avenue A and Left on Stadium Blvd. and drive until you see the sign that says Marlins Practice Fields. It’s not a big entrance, it’s a small opening in the gate (like it was on the Cardinals side in previous years).

You will see the entrance off the sidewalk. We have composed a little video of how to get to the fields. This is not a tour of Roger Dean, but rather just a warning that it is a long walk and we wanted you to know about it. Watch this video to see the walk,  and then refer to the graphic below for rules.

Practice

If you have never been to Spring Training, it is a lot of fun because fans are able to watch the players work out. There are generally no autographs or interaction with the players, but fans are up close and personal with them– with only the fences between them. There are several different fields they use and the main one, which is the only area fans can go to this year is the Kissell Quad, named for longtime scout and roving instructor, the great Cardinal: George Kissel. At the Quad there are four fields and the players often go from one to another depending on the group they are in and what they are working on. There are bleachers for fans to sit on.

Things to remember: Sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, water, a possible snack and of course, your camera.

Bag Policy

In conjunction with a league-wide policy established by Major League Baseball, the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals reserve the right to inspect all items entering Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

Guests may bring in bags and purses that do not exceed 16 in. x 16 in. x 8 in. Any backpack brought in must be clear. All items will be inspected and all bags are subject to search.

Security

At the entrance to the back fields (on the Marlins’ side) there is a check-in table where all fans must show their bags, phones and they will get wanded.
