This round-up will be of events happening in and around the Greater St. Louis Area that are taking place in June and July. The patriotic events are listed in a separate article in the next paragraph as are the Route 66 events. If you have any additional events for us to add, let us know.

 

America Celebrates 250– and St. Louis Joins In

Route 66 Celebrates 100 Years

More on June 13- Delmar Juneteenth Celebration 

The Delmar Loop Juneteenth Celebrationbrings together residents, visitors, performers, artists, vendors, and community partners for a day centered on culture, connection, and joy. The day begins with the Reconciliation Network’s 5K Race for Reconciliation and continues with live performances, music, dance, community art, food, and local vendors.

From the opening drum call to the closing brass band set, the event is designed to celebrate Juneteenth through movement, music, performance, and gathering in one of St. Louis’ most iconic districts.

Race for Reconciliation 5K

Register HERE

The Race For Reconciliation is a 5K run/walk with the goal of promoting racial unity in St. Louis.  This year the race will be held on Delmar Blvd to bring the message of racial unity to the historic Delmar Divide in collaboration with the Delmar Loop Juneteenth Celebration. This will be a fun activity for participants of all paces with a 1 mile course option as well.  Join us in building unity one step at a time.

Community Art Project

Stop by the community art project near the stage and help create a collaborative piece during the celebration.

Explore 20 retail vendors, enjoy eats from 4 food trucks, and grab drinks from Pour Decisions Cocktail Catering.

June 16-Support the Dred Scott Heritage Foundation with “Dred Scott and Oscar Charleston Night at the Ballpark”

Purchase tickets to support the memories of these two men who were actually descendants of the same family.

It will be a special night during the week of Juneteenth to come together and celebrate Oscar Charleston, who was considered by many to be one of the greatest players in the Negro Leagues. Lynne Jackson who is a fifth great granddaughter to Dred Scott recently found out she is also a grand niece descendant of Charleston.

Jackson has been working for years with her Dred Scott Heritage Foundation to carry on her famous relatives’s memory and legacy.

The Dred Scott Heritage Foundation is responsible for the large statue of Dred and Harriett Scott that stands at the Old Courthouse in St. Louis.

June 12-22 FL!P Circus at the St. Louis Galleria

Flip Circus is bringing its all-human, international big-top show to the Saint Louis Galleria parking lot. The family-friendly show  in the air-conditioned “Big Top” tent that will be in the Galleria Parking Lot runs June 12-June 22. Acrobats, jugglers, and clowns. Tickets range from \(\$77\) to \(\$104\) depending on the seat and showtime.
