LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SATURDAY, FEB. 28, 2026

Ten relievers allowed a combined 13 runs in 6 1/3 innings as the Mets blew out the Cardinals 14-3  on Friday in Jupiter. After Quinn Mathews allowed one run in 2 2/3 innings, the bullpen was hit hard. Tink Hence allowed three runs and retired only two batters, giving up one of three New York home runs.

The only highlight of the day for the Cardinals was JJ Wetherholt's first home run, a blast off the batter's eye in center field measured at an estimated 422 feet.

The Cardinals will be the visiting team today against the Marlins in Jupiter. Michael McGreevy will get the start.
