LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 2026

A ninth-inning rally fell short and the Cardinals lost 6-5 to the Royals on Friday night in Kansas City. A four-run fourth inning had helped the Royals build a 6-2 lead before the Cardinals scored three runs in the ninth, two coming on a single by Blaze Jordan, before leaving the would-be tying run on base.

The two teams will have the day off today because of the World Cup game at Arrowhead Stadium, which shares the parking lot with Kauffman Stadium.
