LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

THURSDAY, JUNE 11, 2026

After scoring the tying run in the fifth inning, Juan Soto homered in the seventh to break the tie and give the Mets a 5-4 win over the Cardinals today in New York. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Cardinals, who were trying to get to 10 games above .500 for the first time since the end of the 2022 season.

Three of the first seven hitters for the Cardinals - Alec Burleson, Lars Nootbaar and Jimmy Crooks - homered in the first two innings but the Cardinals only had two hits after the second.

The road trip will continue on Friday night with the first of three games against the Twins in Minnesota. Kyle Leahy is the scheduled starter.
