LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 2023

The Cardinals lost their fourth game in a row Monday night as the Rangers earned a 4-3 walk-off win in the opener of the three-game series in Texas. After tying the game with two runs in the eighth, the Cardinals gave up a walk and a failure to catch a popup led to the game-winning hit in the ninth.

The loss dropped the Cardinals 11 games under .500 at 25-36, the worst record in the National League.

Matthew Liberatore will get the start tonight in the second game of the series.
