THURSDAY, JULY 2, 2026

The Cardinals had two hits in the first inning but didn't get another hit the rest of the game and lost 5-1 to the Braves on Wednesday night in Atlanta. Their only baserunner after the opening inning was a third-inning walk to JJ Wetherholt as the Braves retired 25 of the Cardinals final 26 batters.

Dustin May, who was skipped in the last turn through the Cardinals' rotation, will get the start tonight in the final game of the series.
