LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SUNDAY, MAY 24, 2026

Bryan Torres homered in his major-league debut on Saturday and also had a single and drew a walk in the Cardinals' 8-1 win in the day game of a day-night doubleheader against the Reds in Cincinnati. They lost the night game 7-6 in 11 innings. Jordan Walker homered in each game, his 14th and 15th of the season, driving in a combined seven runs.

Brycen Mautz will be recalled from Memphis and will get the start today in the final game of the series. The Cardinals needed a starting pitcher for Wednesday as a result of Friday night's rainout and Saturday's doubleheader but elected to start Mautz today and push their next three starters back a day.
