The Blues were shut out for the second time on their three-game road trip on Saturday night, falling to the Sharks in San Jose.
Playing without injured forwards Jaden Schwartz, Alexander Steen and Patrick Maroon and defenseman Carl Gunnarsson, the Blues gave up three goals in the span of 4:11 in the second period to break the game open. Two of the goals were scored by Joe Pavelski.
Chad Johnson was in goal for the Blues, allowing the four goals on 29 shots. The Blues registered 30 shots on goal but had nothing to show for their effort.
The Blues also were shut out last season in their only game in San Jose.
Looking ahead: It will be a busy week for the Blues, who return home to host the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night. That begins a stretch in which they will play four games in a six-day span.
