Game Report: Red Wings 4, Blues 3
Tyler Bertuzzi scored with 6:53 left in the third period Wednesday night to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Red Wings over the Blues in Detroit.
The Blues had rallied to tie the game after falling behind 3-0 in the second period only to lose for the fifth time in their last six games.
They fell to 1-3 under interim coach Craig Berube.
The Red Wings built their lead in the first 11:04 of the second period only to see the Blues cut the lead to 3-2 on power-play goals from David Perron and Vladimir Tarasenko later in the period.
Perron then scored his second goal of the night to tie the game at 8:04 of the third period before the Red Wings got the winning goal from Bertuzzi, his second of the night.
Jake Allen stopped 27 of Detroit’s 31 shots. The Blues out-shot the Red Wings 36-31, but also had 21 shots that missed the net.
Looking ahead: The three-game road trip for the Blues continues on Friday night in Colorado.
