Game Report: Islanders 2, Blues 1 (overtime)

After winning a third consecutive game on Monday night for the first time this season, the Blues had a chance to pull off another first on Tuesday night against the Islanders in New York.

The Blues had been 0-5 on the second night of back-to-back games going into the game but could not pull off the first victory, even though they did get a point.

David Perron’s 17th goal of the season, off an assist from Ryan O’Reilly, tied the game for the Blues at 6:07 of the third period, extending his streak with at least one point to 12 consecutive games, but the Islanders scored the game-winning goal 1:37 into overtime.

Jordan Binnington suffered the first loss of his career, snapping his three-game winning streak. He stopped 23 of 25 shots.

The loss kept the Blues from moving above .500 for the first time since Nov. 9.

Looking ahead: The Blues will wrap up their four-game road trip on Thursday night in Boston.
