Game Report: Sharks 3, Blues 2 (overtime)
The Blues hopes of pulling off a sweep of their three games in California this week almost came to fruition.
Tied 2-2 at the end of regulation, the Blues still got a point out of Saturday’s game with an overtime loss to the Sharks in San Jose after earlier wins in Anaheim and Los Angeles to pick up five of a possible six points on the trip.
The Blues got goals from Pat Maroon and Brayden Schenn, whose goal tied the game with just three seconds left in the second period. Both goals came on power plays.
Jake Allen got the start in goal for the second consecutive game after his shutout over the Kings and allowed the three goals on 33 shots. The Blues registered just 19 shots on goal.
The Blues played without Vladimir Tarasenko, who missed the game because of an injury.
Looking ahead: The Blues return home on Tuesday night to host the Arizona Coyotes at Enterprise Center.
