Leadoff Quick Hitters

FRIDAY,  MARCH 5, 2021

It was a rough start for Carlos Martinez Thursday night as he gave up five runs in the first inning and the Cardinals went on to lose 14-0 to the Astros in West Palm Beach. Alex Reyes retired all six batters he faced with three strikeouts. The Cardinals were limited to just three hits as they were shut out for the second time in three games.

The city of St. Louis and the Cardinals announced Thursday that nearly 15,000 fans - 32 percent of capacity - will be allowed to attend games at Busch Stadium when the regular season begins on April 8.

Jack Flaherty will start a B game for the Cardinals today against the Astros while John Gant will get the start in the night game against the Nationals, both in West Palm Beach.

It’s a Great Day to Send Flowers!
