
The retro jerseys looked good on Jordan Binnington and the rest of the Blues on Thursday night.
Wearing a replica of the uniform the Blues wore from 1994 through 1998, Binnington matched his career high with 40 saves in a 5-0 shutout of the Calgary Flames at Enterprise Center. .
It was his sixth career shutout and the first for the Blues this season as they improved to 9-1-2 in their last 12 games.
Oskar Sundqvist and Zach Sanford were the offensive stars for the Blues. Sundqvist had two goals and Sanford enjoyed a four-point gamer with one goal and three assists.
Sanford scored the only goal in the first period before goals by Sundqvist and David Perron in the second period increased the lead to 3-0. Sundqvist and Vince Dunn capped the scoring with goals in the third period.
Robert Thomas finished with three assists for the Blues, who were outshot in the game 40-31.
The Blues will wear the retro jerseys two more times this season, on Feb. 27 against the New York Islanders and on March 31 when they host the Detroit Red Wings.
The Blues’ homestand continues on Saturday night, when they will play the Nashville Predators for the first time this season.
