The Cardinals lost 5-1 to the White Sox on Sunday, their second defeat in a row to a team that had won only one road game this season when they arrived in St. Louis on Friday. The Cardinals' only run came on a home run by Willson Contreras. Hitters other than Contreras and Nolan Arenado were a combined 6-of-78 in the series, including three infield hits today.

The loss left the Cardinals with a 1-10 record in the final game of a series and 0-6 on Sunday. They equaled their low point of the season at four games under .500.

The homestand continues tonight with the first of three games against the Mets. Kyle Gibson is the scheduled starter.
