Cardinals fans got to ask questions and listen to Matthew Liberatore and Victor Scott II being interviewed at the Spring Training Baseball Bash at the Homewood Suites- Palm Beach Gardens.
“Ever heard the term ‘Whiteyball?’ (loud applause) That’s definitely a part of my game. I know the game has ckind of changed to more home runs and everybody is seeing the long ball, but I can run a little bit so dropping down the bunt and running and making you guys scoot up to the edge of your seat is kind of what I’m trying to do.” — Victor Scott II
Advice to kids and parents– “Fall in love with the game. Make sure the kids are doing it for the right reasons. Parents should be their biggest supporters. There are a lot of critics and it’s very easy to be negative with a bad performance. My dad, my mom, they were always there whether I had a good game or a bad game. They weren’t worried about it it, tey assked if I had fun. When you are young aages 7-15 or 16 a bad game doesn’t matter. So find a way to fall in love with the game. If you make it to the minor leagues, that’s when things can get tough and it can get lonely, but your love for the game can can be what pulls you through the tough times.”
“Advice to kids, which can apply to life: “Continue working every day. Sometimes the resilts might not show up, like with baseball, you can line out and it can still be considered a good swing. So just continue to work every day and continue to work hard. The more you put into it, the more the “baseball gods” as they call it (or life) will reward you,”— Victor Scott II
