LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 2026

Nelson Velazquez and Thomas Saggese each had two hits, and Saggese hit his first homer of the spring on Saturday, as the battle to see who will be the Cardinals starting left fielder is going down to final day of camp on Sunday. The Cardinals beat the Marlins 7-4 in Jupiter.

The team has set the order for the starting rotation to begin the season. After Matthew Liberatore starts the opener, he will be followed by Michael McGreevy and Dustin May against the Rays, then Kyle Leahy and Andre Pallante will start the first two games against the Mets.

The Cardinals will play the Astros today in West Palm Beach in their final game in Florida. McGreevy will get the start.
