This round-up will be of events happening in and around the Greater St. Louis Area that are taking place in June and July. The patriotic events are listed in a separate article in the next paragraph as are the Route 66 events. If you have any additional events for us to add, let us know.

 

America Celebrates 250– and St. Louis Joins In

Route 66 Celebrates 100 Years

The St. Louis Greek Fest is this Weekend!

Memorial Day weekend is the official start to the backyard grilling/barbecue season, the time to shout Opa!

Opa is for the grilled kabobs and the Greek delicacies cooked and baked at the annual Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in West County, which has ushered in the summer with its Memorial Day GreekFest for decades.

The Greek Festival has it all: authentic Greek food, live music, and dancing.

A word of warning if you plan to attend the Greek Fest, bring your credit card. The Greek fest is CARD ONLY this year. They will not be accepting cash or checks as payment.

May 18-31 St. Louis Legends (Formerly the Senior Olympics)  

The St. Legends competition is underway.

The Legends Games is the next generation of Senior Olympics—a master’s-style athletic competition that promotes lifelong active living for adults ages 50 and up*. Held each May, events include over 90 individual and team sports, ranging from the traditional swimming and softball to pinball and poker.

As one of the most prestigious games for older adults/seniors in the country, the Legends Games attracts over 300 volunteers and 1,200 athletes! This 2026, the Games proudly carry a new name to better capture the spirit of active living and the 50+ age group. For a complete schedule: CLICK HERE.

May 21-June 11 Mermaids are back on the Mississippi in 2026

Ever dreamed of encountering the mythical? This exclusive event brings you face-to-fin with real-life mermaids. Get ready for an enchanting experience unlike any other. Mermaid encounters are free with your admission ticket or Membership.

Mermaid Dives
The mermaid dive offers a magical experience, showcasing the graceful movements of mermaids as they glide through the water. During these dives, you’ll see plenty of waves, bubble kisses, twirls, and flips, and learn fun facts about mermaids.

May 23 -25 St. Louis African Arts Festival

The free festival showcases African and African-American culture from May 23–25.

 

June 5,  6- “Rodeo at the Riverbend”

A real rodeo is coming to Brookdale Farms. June 5 and 6 from 6-11 p.m.

Don’t miss this professional rodeo action, live music, food, drinks, and an unforgettable outdoor experience along the river. This two-night event brings high-energy competition and live entertainment together in one of Missouri’s most scenic venues.

They have several different price points. You could just attend the rodeo, buy tickets to the rodeo only and then purchase food that they have for sale there, or they have special “VIP” packages that include a a special reserved dinner of: BBQ Beef with Sauce on the Side, Pulled Pork with Sauce on the Side, Mac & Cheese, Creamy Potato Salad, Deluxe Salad with Ranch on the Side, Rolls & Cornbread.

June 7- Gateway Arch Fundraiser “Picnic in Your Park”

If you would attend an expensive gala dinner to support your favorite charity, then this twist on the night-time event is for you. The prices are stiff, but it is for a great cause. Don’t think about it as the cost of a picnic–if you go into it thinking you are supporting a good cause, this could be a very fun afternoon for you and your friends or family.

June 16-Support the Dred Scott Heritage Foundation with “Dred Scott and Oscar Charleston Night at the Ballpark”

Purchase tickets to support the memories of these two men who were actually descendants of the same family.

It will be a special night during the week of Juneteenth to come together and celebrate Oscar Charleston, who was considered by many to be one of the greatest players in the Negro Leagues. Lynne Jackson who is a fifth great granddaughter to Dred Scott recently found out she is also a grand niece descendant of Charleston.

Jackson has been working for years with her Dred Scott Heritage Foundation to carry on her famous relatives’s memory and legacy.

The Dred Scott Heritage Foundation is responsible for the large statue of Dred and Harriett Scott that stands at the Old Courthouse in St. Louis.

June 12-22 FL!P Circus at the St. Louis Galleria

Flip Circus is bringing its all-human, international big-top show to the Saint Louis Galleria parking lot. The family-friendly show  in the air-conditioned “Big Top” tent that will be in the Galleria Parking Lot runs June 12-June 22. Acrobats, jugglers, and clowns. Tickets range from \(\$77\) to \(\$104\) depending on the seat and showtime.
