LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

MONDAY, JUNE 27,  2022

Jack Flaherty left Sunday's game after pitching just two innings because of stiffness in his right shoulder. The Cardinals expect to know more about Flaherty's status on Monday. He was making his third start since coming off the injured list and pitched a total of eight innings in those games.

After Flaherty left, the Cardinals blew a 5-0 lead and lost 6-5 to the Cubs in 10 innings. The winning run scored on asingle by Willson Contreras off Zack Thompson, the fifth of six relievers used by the Cardinals.

Adam Wainwright will get the start tonight as the Cardinals open a three-game series against the Marlins.
