LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

MONDAY, MAY 18, 2026

The Cardinals were limited to five hits and didn't get a runner to second base until there were two outs in the ninth inning on Sunday and lost 2-0 to the Royals at Busch Stadium. It was the second time they have been shut out this season, the first time at home. Salvador Perez drove in both runs with a home run and sacrifice fly off Andre Pallante, who became the first starter to go past the sixth inning for the Cardinals this season.

After a day off today, the Cardinals will open a three-game series on Tuesday night against the Pirates at Busch Stadium. It's the first of 12 consecutive games against NL Central opponents.
