LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2026

The Cardinals lost 2-1 to the WBC team from Nicaragua on Wednesday in an exhibition game in Jupiter. After breezing through the first three innings Matthew Liberatore gave up a two-run homer in the fourth. Only two players expected to be on the opening day roster for the Cardinals, Ivan Herrera and Nathan Church, were in the lineup.

Dustin May will make his Cardinals debut today when the Cardinals travel across the state to play the Pirates in Bradenton. The team will stay on the west coach of the state for a game Friday against the Orioles in Sarasota.
