THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 2026

The Cardinals had another chance to move to 10 games above .500 for the first time since the end of the 2022 season on Wednesday but lost 6-1 to the Padres at Busch Stadium. Kyle Leahy allowed three runs over six innings and the Padres put the game away with three runs off Chris Roycroft in the ninth inning. They fell to 0-4 when they could have reached the 10 games above .500 mark.

Matthew Liberatore will get the start tonight in the opener of a three-game series in Kansas City. It's a Thursday, Friday, Sunday series as the two teams will have Saturday off because of the World Cup game at Arrowhead Stadium.
