LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SATURDAY, JULY 4, 2026

Nathan Church and Masyn Winn hit three-run homers and Winn and Alec Burleson each drove in four runs to lead the Cardinals to a 17-1 rout of the Cubs on Friday in Chicago. It was the Cardinals' second greatest margin of victory over the Cubs in the 110 years they have been playing at Wrigley Field.

The beneficiary of the offense's big day was Andre Pallante, who worked 5 2/3 scoreless innings en route to his 10th victory. He is the first Cardinals to win 10 games before the All-Star break since Miles Mikolas in 2018.

Kyle Leahy will get the start tonight in the second game of the series.
