LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SUNDAY, JUNE 28, 2026

A two-run homer from Bryan Torres in the second inning provided just enough offense for the Cardinals to defeat the Marlins 2-1 today and snap a four-game losing streak. The Cardinals scored a total of three runs in the three games against the Marlins. Starter Kyle Leahy worked five innings as he and the bullpen protected the one-run lead, with Riley O'Brien working a clean ninth inning to earn his 20th save.

The Cardinals will have the day off on Monday before opening a three-game series against the Braves on Tuesday night in Atlanta. Matthew Liberatore is the scheduled starter.
