THURSDAY, SEPT. 17, 2026 

Drew Gilbert hit a two-run homer on the first pitch from Riley O'Brien in the 10th inning Wednesday that gave the Giants a 6-5 win over the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals had tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Jordan Walker stole his 20th base of the season, becoming the Cardinals first player with 20 or more homers and 20 or more stolen bases since Tommy Pham in 2017.

Before the game JJ Wetherholt was activated from the injured list and Ramon Urias was designated for assignment.

The Cardinals will have the day off today then host the Nationals beginning Friday night for the final three home gams of the season.
