Game Report: Blues 3, Flames 1

The Blues wrapped up their three-game trip to western Canada with a solid win on Saturday over the Flames in Calgary behind goalie Jake Allen.

Allen stopped 28 of 29 shots to help the Blues finish 2-1 on the trip as they head into the NHL’s Christmas break. It was the first loss in regulation at home for the Flames in 10 games.

After taking a 2-0 lead in the first period, the Blues relied on Allen to protect the lead, giving up only a goal to St. Louis native Matthew Tkachuk. Oskar Sundqvist scored the final goal for the Blues in the third period.

The Blues built their early lead on goals from David Perron, his 12th of the season, and Tyler Bozak, who scored off the rebound of a shot by Patrick Maroon while the Blues were on the power play. Perron also had an assist on the goal.

Looking ahead: The Blues will be off until Dec. 27, when they will host the Buffalo Sabres at Enterprise Center.
