LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2026

For the second game in a row, a home run from Nathan Church gave the Cardinals a late lead on Sunday but the bullpen could not hold it. The Mariners tied the game in the seventh then won it 3-2 on a pinch-hit homer by Rob Refsnyder off JoJo Romero in the ninth, completing a sweep of the series.

The Cardinals will try to snap their four-game losing streak tonight when they open a four-game series against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. Dustin May will get the start. It's the first game of the season against a division opponent, in the 28th game of the year.
