Game Report: Blues 1, Lightning 0 (overtime)

Jordan Binnington and Andrei Vasilevskiy put on a goaltending display on Thursday night that could not be decided in regulation.

Brayden Schenn scored the game’s only goal when his shot trickled past Vasilevskiy 4:01 into overtime to give the Blues the win over the Lightning in Tampa, their season-high fourth consecutive victory.

All four wins came with Binnington in goal as he earned his second career shutout by stopping all 32 shots by Tampa Bay, the top offensive team in the NHL.

Vasilevskiy stopped the first 38 shots by the Blues before Schenn scored the game-winner, his 10th goal of the season.

The win moved the Blues past Vancouver into the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference as they won for the eighth time in their last 11 games (8-2-1).

Looking ahead: The Blues return home on Saturday to host the Nashville Predators at Enterprise Center in a back-to-back series that also will feature a game between the two team on Sunday in Nashville.
