Game Report: Stars 5, Blues 2
The Blues winning streak finally came to an end at 11 games on Thursday night in Dallas as they suffered their first loss in 30 days.
Jamie Benn scored two of the Stars four goals in the second period against Jordan Binnington, whose nine-game winning streak also was snapped.
Both of the Blues’ goals also came in the second period from their two leading scorers, Vladimir Tarasenko and Ryan O’Reilly, to cut the lead to 4-2 at the end of the period.
The Stars were able to protect that lead through the third period before adding an empty-net goal as the Blues also saw their road winning streak snapped at eight games.
The Blues out-shot the Stars 45-24.
The 11-game streak set a franchise record and was the longest winning streak in the NHL this season.
Looking ahead: The Blues return home on Saturday to host the Boston Bruins.
