Game Report: Blues 4, Kings 0

A three-goal second period and a shutout performance from Jake Allen made certain the Blues did not have to pull off a miracle rally Thursday night for the second night in a row.

After scoring two goals 12 seconds apart in the final 64 seconds Wednesday night to stun the Ducks in Anaheim, the Blues were in control from the second period on against the Kings up the road in Los Angeles.

Vladimir Tarasenko’s goal 25 seconds into the second period gave the Blues the only goal they would need. It was his team leading 28th of the season. Tyler Bozak and Ryan O’Reilly also scored in the period, with O’Reilly’s goal – his 26th of the season – coming with just two seconds left in the period.

Ivan Barbashev completed the scoring for the Blues with a goal in the third period.

Allen made 28 saves in recording his 19th career shutout.

The Blues have now 15 of their last 19 games.

Looking ahead: The Blues will complete their three-game trip to California against the Sharks on Saturday in San Jose.
