LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SATURDAY, MAY 28,  2022

Paul Goldschmidt's two-run homer in the third inning sent the Cardinals to a 4-2 win over the Brewers on Friday night at Busch Stadium. It was the ninth home run this year for Goldschmidt, who extended his hitting streak to 18 games.

Matt Holliday and Julian Javier will go into the Cardinals Hall of Fame in August, the team announced before Friday night's game. Holliday won the fan balloting  while Javier was elected by a select veterans committee. Former Browns player and manager Charles Comiskey also will be inducted, as an organization pick.

Matthew Liberatore will make the second start of his career in today's 1:15 p.m. game.
