Game Report: Blues 4, Wild 3 (overtime)
Going to overtime has been a regular event for the Blues this week, but the team is not complaining.
For their third time in their last four games the Blues found themselves tied at the end of regulation Saturday night in Minnesota, but Ryan O’Reilly scored the game-winner 2:27 into the extra session in a 4-3 win.
The was was the fourth in a row for the Blues, who also got overtime wins in Detroit on Sunday and at home over Columbus on Friday night.
The Blues have won six of their last seven games.
Goals by Mackenzie MacEachern and Carl Gunnarrson had given the Blues a 2-1 lead after the first period, but they let that lead slip away and trailed 3-2 entering the final period before Sammy Blais tied the game with his fifth goal of the season.
Jake Allen got the start and stopped 20 of 23 shots by the Wild in the win.
Looking ahead: The Blues now head to western Canada for the next three games, beginning on Tuesday night against the Canucks in Vancouver.
